Ok so I didn't even know who Jeffree Star was until earlier this year. I've been watching the videos on his YouTube channel going from oldest to newest, I watch a new one when it comes out. And today I watched this and if you need a laugh this should do it for you.
Did I miss the part in gossip girl during my 7 rewatches where they say what Nate's dad is the captain of? Bc as of right now he's just Capn Crunch
"You don't want to make me better. You want to be better than me"
I can't quite put into words how this line made me feel. The relationship Nate has with his dad is something I relate with a lot, but this just... I don't know, I guess it's just saying exactly how I feel about my mother. I just... Legends of Tomorrow guys. It's very real at times
I'm bitter as fuck cus you know what Nate's dad? I was starting to not hate you. Fuck you and your project hades
Fools And Their Money
The guys at Cyanide & Happiness know how to push buttons, but they are also really good at pointing out the stupid shit people are capable of doing (and depending on the reader, I guess the two skills can be correlated).
Here, Dave McElfatrick sticks it to the saps who find it prudent to rely on Magick for their fortunes, and who also like to blame "the Fates" when shit doesn't go their way. There's a whole lot of them around, aren't there? When I read about a successful athlete getting a DUI while driving drunk to the convenience store to buy lottery tickets, I can't help but assume the fortune he has amassed is not long for this world. But then, maybe he's like my dad.
Dad never fails to stop and pick up a used lottery ticket off the street. He does it to make sure the buyer didn't accidentally throw away a winner; he insists that he once found a ticket worth ten dollars. (I haven't seen him do it in a long time, so maybe he's stopped; but I have no reason to think he has.) My dad, while not wealthy by any stretch, is successfully self-made, retired three years early and living comfortably on his own terms thanks to hard work and common sense. So I suppose the lottery ticket thing just makes him a harmless opportunist. Maybe that's Todd Helton. Maybe not.
On a thinly-related note, one of the best things you can do for your children is explain the Gambler's Fallacy to them early and often. Make sure they understand how it works whenever you play games with them. They'll grow up a little less stupid.
