&&. rumor has it ( nathan maddock ) has stepped into rosewood. ( he ) is a ( 38 ) year old ( dom ) currently residing at the manor as ( equine veterinarian ). it’s been said that ( he ) resembles ( sam heughan ) and is into ( powerplay & body worship ) but not ( ropeplay & feet ). ( he ) has been said to be ( loyal & dutiful ) but also quite ( stubborn & crass ). let’s hope the manor doesn’t devour them whole.
He is a horse boy, he loves horses. And hounds.
Maddock was raised on his family’s farm in Scotland, helping raise their herd of horses and pack of hounds. He’s skilled in horse husbandry, carpentry, and dog training.
He has one younger sister, a submissive, and his family took a progressive view on doing their best to raise them as similarly as possible. He readily adores her and would fight anyone who tried to hurt her.
His family was always steadily in the middle class but scrounged up money to help put Maddock through vet school. He was very successful in college and managed to secure a position at the Manor soon after graduation and has now been a part of the staff as a live-in vet for 12 years.
Vet school was an extremely stressful time of his life, it left him with little time to meet his needs and find a sub and quickly he began looking for solace at the bottom of a bottle. He is competent and sober throughout the work day but has a tendency to overdo it once he’s back in his rooms.
Aside from the tendency to overdrink, he is a very careful and loving dom. Even after the most beastly of scenes, he will sit and cradle a sub in his arms for as long as necessary. He acknowledges that he would never want a dom to mistreat his sister and strives to be a good influence for other dominants.
Lowkey an advocate for submissive rights.
His marking is a full moon on his shoulder blade.
Extremely loyal to those he is close to, but can be a little distant from those he doesn’t know.
The evening air drifted through the open windows of the stable, light birdsong trailing across the subtle breeze. The bay gelding in front of him shifted restlessly, shaking his head in impatience. “Aye, you’re alright boy,” Maddock muttered, working the leather straps of his saddle free from his underbelly. “I’m almost done here then it’s out to pasture for you.” Basic stablehand duties were perhaps below Nathan’s station, but whenever a stablehand begged off a break, it was hard to turn down the work. It brought him back to childhood, the crisp smell of hay and the simple providing for an animal. The only things missing were a few large hounds running underfoot and his younger sister teasing him.
He hung the tack back up in its place and grabbed onto the gelding’s lead. The horse eagerly walked beside him, clearly ready to run and graze. A figure made him halt before he could leave the stable, causing the horse to whinny frustratedly. “Miss Doefoot. I’m afraid all the horses are out to pasture, if you wish to ride you’ll have to come back later, they need their rest.”
Maddock kept his tone formal, although Dominance threatened to creep through. She had always made him uncomfortable, a young and pretty thing who was all too aware of her affect on people. Nearly twenty years laid between them and yet that wasn’t enough to quell the tension in his body. In fact, it sometimes seemed to liven it. Clearing his throat, he muttered, “Now if you’ll excuse me,” and moved to get past her.
Maddock was generally a solitary drinker. Unless some momentous occasion had passed, he preferred to find solace in spirits alone. However, he also wasn’t one to turn down a guest when they offered to buy him a round. One round became two became three, until the guest had needed to leave and take care of some other affair.
He should’ve left too, but he’d gone ahead and ordered another beer for himself. Typically, he favored stronger spirits, beer rarely went to his head anymore, but he wanted his sobriety about him in public like this. Nathan could only imagine the humiliation of being a blundering drunk in this crowd. Too many dangerous people around to risk the vulnerability.
Down the bar, another figure caught his eye, her brown hair illuminated by the neon signs dotting the walls. He couldn’t quite see her face, but something brought him to his feet and moving down toward her. He touched her shoulder, “Do you mind if I join you?”
