The plot is adjusted for modernity.... The secret benefactor whom Pip accidentally saved from the police in his childhood. Now he secretly sponsors Pip, transforming him into a "gentleman" through money, education, and connections. Through the London lawyer Jaggers, Pip gains access to a discretionary trust

-the money does not go directly to Pip, only approved expenses are covered (university, accommodation, clothing, internships)

-there is a monthly allowance, but major expenditures require Jaggers’s approval

-Pip ofc does not know who the benefactor is (and ofc, he thinks it's Miss Havisham)

- His sister doesn't die

- Biddy is his neighbor and tutor. In a sense, a childhood friend

-Drummle and Estella eventually get married, but he gets into a car accident while he was with his mistress. According to the terms of their marriage contract, Estelle leaves him financially devastated.Now he's learning to walk again, literally. Lmao.

- Estella is doing well.

-Pip’s foolish mind released Estella sooner, for I desired it thus

gosh. I never realized how constantly grumpy he is. But I guess that’s just who he is - he’s quite the complex fellow. anyway, mission: make him happy. status: partially successful. he smiled once.

I occasionally ponder just how miserable his early days in Hammersmith must’ve felt. Sure, Herbert’s father is a decent sort and a proper teacher, but the domestic atmosphere? Let’s just say it could use some serious improvement. Small wonder Herbert and Pip moved in together pronto.
