The gun remained steady in his hands, leveled almost lazily at the other man’s chest. Lucky, at least, was on Nate’s side for the time being--had Sam been present, one of the brothers would already be lying dead. The time for playing games had passed, and yet--Rafe seemed intent to keep talking.
“So unless you think you have something that increases your worth, this is where we part ways. But don’t worry; your brother won’t be too far behind you. Once I’ve got what I want out of him, I’ll make sure to send him your way.”
