Religious Studies Term Of The Day: Transformer or Changer Hey everyone. I thought today I’d talk about another divine figure in Native American religious traditions, one I’ve come across in my readings on the Coast Salish. I cannot even begin to go into a ton of detail to completely explain this idea because there are so many stories across different tribes and traditions, so I encourage people to look into the different versions of Transformer (also translated as Changer). My particularly favorite story is when Transformer, as the Moon, names the Salmon people, even appointed the Chief of the Salmon I’ve talked about previously, who appears in the First Salmon Ceremony. Anyway, I’m always open to questions from the curious and corrections from those in the know, but I’m just hoping to get religious literacy up and going for everyone. Anyway, have a great day everyone! #religiousstudies #religiousliteracy #nativeamericanreligions #nativeamericanreligioustraditions #transformer #changer https://www.instagram.com/p/CqOgsOpAzU6/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
