Story Time!! A few weekends ago, Karen & Bruce were meeting with some of our mining contacts. Karen’s attention was completely distracted by this rather unusual piece on the table. Turns out, it was a large Copper Crystal specimen with Quartz Crystals embedded in the Copper Crystals! It was mined in 1962 by Art Hamilton and was part of the Art Hamilton collection. He mined it from Fort Royale Island, MI. The best part? It won Best in Show at the 1985 Tucson Gem & Mineral Show! - The rarity of Copper crystals of this size is mind blowing.
