Graphic tutorial

Okay, so I was asked (long time ago, like a half a year ago? i’m so sorry omg) by the bae Alessia how to make a graphic similar to this:

The graphic was made in Photoshop 7.0 & is extremely easy!

1. The very first thing you gotta do - draw a disc (? the round thingy). I took Ellipse Tool, draw one ellipse, made a copy of it & nudged the copy slightly to the bottom & coloured the space between them. I ended up with this:

Congrats, you have a disc! (there’s probably an easier way to do it, tbh)

2. But our disc looks very plain, so what we're going to do is colour it, yay. Basically, take a large, soft brush and do the shading on the edges + use the lighter colour somewhere  around the middle, like this:

To make things easier, just clip the layer with the shading to the layer with the space between the circles (the one that we want to colour).

3. Next step: grass/ground. Take a picture of anything you want & clip it to the top ellipse.

(ignore the white spots, I made them with Dodge tool, so the things we are going to add later would be more visible) I’m not satisfied with how flat it looks, so I use the Burn tool on the edges:

4. Now, let’s move forward to adding some nature to it. I found this tree cutout, resized it and positioned it on the disc.

It doesn’t quite fit with the grass, so I colour it:

I also add some bushes, flowers etc.:

Basically, you just gotta remember to match the things you add to the pic you chose as your ‘ground’. You can play around with curves, add some fill layers & set them to Soft light, just experiment a bit to see what feels right!

Adding Castiel is a formality:

(now that I think about it, i should have added a shadow under him, so yeah, DON’T REPEAT MY MISTAKES) 

5. As for the gif, I found a moving clouds gif & then placed it in the graphic (you can learn how to do it in this tutorial), erased some parts of it, set it to Lighten, added Curves, a b&w gradient and voilà, it is done!
