I started this after a chat with an old friend of mine, he’s a dear old man of tradition- he’s from the Gallup, New Mexico area and was raised on the reservation. This triptych will be a gift to him. I’m thankful to have been born in the south west and see the changing perceptions of the native peoples, I’m stoked to be doing a piece that is inspired by one of my favorite native mythical figures (next to raven and coyote) Kokopelli; and I am thankful to be able to share this with someone I love dearly. - Pt.1 of 3, “Old Pueblo Myths”; acrylic on 8x10 birch panel. Stay tuned for the rest. - #acrylicpainting #nativeamerican #pueblo #southwest #desert #adobebuilding #indigenous #myths #kokopelli #nativestories #stories #nativemythology (at Franklin Design Forge)
