Hey Cyrus, what's your opinion on the other team leaders?
Mixed. Giovanni is the sort of person that I despise; I find his cruelty unnecessary and to be completely self-serving, and it is that sort of nature that made me attempt what I did in the first place. I would not place him at the direct bottom of my list of favourite people, but he is close.
Maxie and Archie appear ultimately harmless, albeit misguided, if you will humour me by momentarily ignoring the hypocrisy of such a description coming from me.
I do struggle to understand Archie’s reasoning, though. Was it an ill-fated attempt to preserve the oceans current existed, by expanding them? Something else? I don’t believe there was any malice from him, but I also cannot quite grasp why he found it necessary to expand the oceans. At least with Maxie, I can understand the desire to create more landmass. Coastal erosure, overpopulation and so on.
...Lysandre is an... interesting one, and I am uncertain what to make of him. I understand that he was once a very well reputed and charitable man, a philanthropist, and was gradually ground down into misanthropy by seeing the the greed and self-absorbion humanity can display. The ugly side. Presumably that was what he meant by wanting to preserve the world’s beauty.
I suppose I find I can relate to him the most, because he is the one I believe I share the most similarities with.
Both of us fell into a deep misanthropy from witnessing the world as it is. Both of us had an idea on how to fix it, and unlike Maxie and Archie, our grand schemes were not to be contained to the one region, but globally. Or universally.
Ultimately, my views on the man depend on what he would say his reasoning was. Spite? Mental illness? Tunnel vision? I veer toward a more forgiving side, in thinking that it was a very poor attempt at dealing with some very real, troubling issues. But I am also aware that this is based on my own assumptions and opinions of my own experiences, and not necessarily what is actually the case. I am willing to be corrected, though having said that, I cannot say I anticipate Lysandre reaching out to me to explain.
Lusamine and Guzma. Guzma seems to be more of a petty thug than an outright threat. I don’t have much in the way of an opinion of him beyond that. Lusamine, however - admirable for her work in Pokemon conservation.
Completely detestable for her abhorrent treatment of her own children. I hope, for their sake, she cleans up her act. Ultimately, whether they choose to give her another chance or to cut her out of their lives entirely, I hope they are happy.
If somebody had told me that Chairman Rose would do something to make him be viewed as a villain before that particular fiasco took place, I would not have believed them.
Considering how open he has been for his love for Galar, I do wonder exactly why he opted to choose the route he did in preserving its future. Another case of very drastic actions that he talked himself into believing were right? Outside force? Or was the philanthropy an act? Plenty of questions, but again, I do not expect many replies.
An irredeemable waste of flesh, oxygen and resources. If Team Flare had been successful, at least the world would be rid of him too. I will waste no more time discussing the man.
