Talin and Nattil hardly remember anything about their mother, because they were so little when she left. They can just barely remember what her face looked like - enough to recognize her if they saw her again. 

But when she thinks about her mother and closes her eyes, Talin likes to imagine her mother smiling at her. And Nattil thinks he can remember his mother holding him while singing to him, but he can’t remember any of the words, just the melody, and he isn’t sure if it’s a real memory, or if he dreamed it.
