Do you have any resources for those who might wants a more spiritual journey to healing? I have tried to use those online supports &chats, but it seems those on the other side do not understand what I am referring too when I say my soul aches.&I am lost. &I need guidance, to be at peace from the terrible events of my past. I do not want to harm my body with more pharmaceuticals, as I do not react well with a majority of man made items, but that is all that is offered in psychologists offices.
Hey there!
I don't know about any websites or anything, but I dohave some personal tips that have personally helped me. I am also for morenatural ways of healing, but I do believe that therapy can help. So if you'reinto that, try taking a look at our getting help page!
It differs from person to person on what will helppeople spiritually, or just helping you relax. Here are a few things that helpme personally:
Go outside more
This is something that helps me personally. Going outsidewhen I’m feeling especially depressed or anxious reminds me to take thingsslower. Just taking a walk, exploring new places by my own really calms me downand makes me feel so much better. Within the next week, try to take a walkevery single day, and take note of all the beauty you see. How it looks when acar drives down a rainy road, what the grass looks like when it’s wet, watchingthe clouds slowly move, listening and watching the trees swaying back andforth. The world is filled with so so so much beauty, and remembering that andwitnessing it can really calm you down and cheer you up.
Stay off the internet
The internet can be a good thing, like finding new bands, cool pictures, friends, or even getting advice (wink wink!). Going on theinternet is great, but it can also make you feel worse. You can feel moreintroverted and you actually miss out on so much when you spend your entire dayon your phone. I am on my phone a lot, because hey, I like it! There’s nothingwrong with that, but I try to go outside or stay off the internet for at least4-5 hours a day. During the time I’m not actively using the internet, I’ll openmy blinds + window so I can watch the wind blow the trees and listen to therain, and also I like the cold. I will make collages, draw, do homework, read, andjust do something that gives me my own time to calm down. It’s important togive yourself time off the internet to just take a step back and calm down.
Develop a new hobby
Try out something new! Trying out something new canpotentially raise your mood, and make you feel better. If you don’t play an instrument, try learning how to play guitar or something like that. Teach yourself, and letyourself fail. Then try again, and try again. Teach yourself until you feelgood about your ability. This is also a good technique for recovery, as itteaches you that it’s okay if you don’t always do well. Maybe try out art! There are so many different types of art, painting (watercolor, acrylic, oil, etc.), pencil drawing (mechanical pencil, normal pencil, shading pencils),charcoal drawings, oil pastels, and so so so many things for you to try.
We also have a whole list of things that will help you, Ibelieve. You can find them here:
