Natural Frame
A natural frame is anything in the world besides the viewfinder that acts as its own frame. This includes anything from windows and doorframes to tree branches and leaves. Natural frames add perspective to an image. Instead of just looking at a scene, the viewer is looking at it through something else. The photographer looks at a scene through his or her own viewfinder, but this gives the viewer something to look through.
How-to: Capturing something through a natural frame involves looking and paying attention more than anything. You cannot create a natural frame; you have to find one. Pay attention to your surroundings so you will realize when something creates a natural frame so that you can capture it. Placing a subject on the other side of the natural frame will make it seem as if you are looking through the frame at the subject in your photograph.
