Great book and first-hand account - the reason why i wasn't here is much and well some private problems
John Frost’s ‘The Book of the Navy’ is a collection of historical sketches of notable American Naval Battles. It includes information on the American Revolution, French War of 1798, War with Tripoli, War of 1812, Cruise of the Essex, Perry’s Victory on Lake Erie, War with Algiers in 1815, and more.
This 1846 edition includes an appendix of Naval Anecdotes, Naval and Patriotic Songs, a Chronological table, and numerous engravings by William Croome and steel portraits of Navy Commanders throughout.
A very interesting magazine about caricatures and their meaning in and for the Royal Navy. So if you are interested you should buy it it is really good.
