Every time I fall in love, it’s with a sinking ship.  I’m a captain fated to drown at sea when I just wanted to skinny dip.

You’ve dropped anchor down in the heart of the waves to linger and pretend that you can’t be saved.

A growing distress sends signal flares from my heart at the same time as you find your boards breaking apart.

What no one ever told you was I’m a naval engineer. Your boards that creak and snap just need to fight against the fear.

That’s not to say that there won’t be storms from time to time. But with every swell or lightening strike, take comfort that you’re mine.
