she had always been very quiet-- her parents were worried there was something wrong with her when she didn’t speak until she was three years old. that never got better, either. it would be a rare occasion when myint ever spoke in public. scared for the development of their little girl, her parents took her to doctors, and then therapists, who eventually diagnosed her with selective mutism. 

there was one scenario that she was never scared, however. in her church choir, she felt at home. belting and singing from the bottom of her heart, it was when she felt the most alive. she was shy and quiet, but she had the voice of a superstar.

which was probably why she was scouted. 

she had no idea why there was a new age scout at her choral recital, but there was one. she didn’t want to at first, but with much prompting from her mother, and promises from the company that they’d take care of her, she signed. 

she’s still finding her place. the only time she isn’t scared shitless is when she’s singing. she has no idea how new age expects her to debut in a group someday, but for the moment, she’s getting more comfortable. and that’s all she can ask for.
