THERES AN ANOTHER STORM?!!

hey guys moonie here and heres the quick update before the power is getting out tonight. so I was on the weather network to check on weather update in my home province and it says tonight there will be another snow storm ohhhhh my fuckin god u guys this is really getting scary i dont want my power to turn off forever because of that stupid weather i dont want to get lost one of you guys since the weather didnt expect the sun holyyy shiiiiit im so SCARED SHITLESS what am i gonna do if the power went out that must be that fucking snow storm... i need to cuddle my stitch plushie... >_< SINCE i live in the maritimes i might be going to my friend’s house tomorrow for celebrating new year’s eve and drinking some nice cokes (i only drink diet pepsi without sugar) and eating junk foods like chips while playing video games without being online (my friend @blueeyesmasterx was playing minecraft xbox 360 version and i was playing harvest moon ds and @scissorqueen97 is drawing stuff with her tablet) and my mom is making some cookies before the power went out maybe tonight i’d better charged up my stuff. i wont be posting more doodles until next week because my laptop fucked up the blue screen so i got a new laptop just in case thats why i might take a break from digital art or traditional art. sorry for being lazy i was posting an update for u guys so u can actually read it when the storm hits my home province in canada thanks for reading and be careful with the icy roads guys <3

Obesity has a high comorbidity with mental health problems and although it is a stretch to say that obesity causes mental illness, researchers are looking to related factors such as gut microbiota to better understand this relationship. The following paper looks at how a change in diet leads to alteration of the gut microbiota and in turn, adverse neurobehavioral effects. Specifically, the researchers investigated whether obese-type microbiota would still have an impact in non-obese mice. They subjected conventional, non-obese mice to antibiotic treatment before transplanting microbiota from donors that were on either a high fat diet (HFD) or a control diet. The recipient mice went through a number of neuropsychological tests and analysis was performed on blood, brain, and intestine samples. It turns out that changes to microbiota composition that are induced by high fat diets are able to significantly disrupt cognitive behaviour in the absence of obesity. This also lends support to the idea that modulation of the microbiota may have potential therapeutic effects for neuropsychiatric disorders. Now that’s an exciting thought!

The whole article is pretty interesting and easy to follow so I would definitely recommend checking it out. Even if it’s just to see why the researchers opted to use conventional mice rather than germ-free mice.

On an entirely different note, you may recall that in my introductory blog post I stated, “they (Arsenal) WILL win the league this year”. In the time since that post, Arsenal are winless in the last three league games and have dropped to fourth place. So it seems I’ve jinxed their title hopes. Because of this, I’d like to make an addendum to my original post and say that Arsenal might win the league this year.
