It disgusts me that so much money is poured into mens football and to them 1 million pounds is nothing while for Notts County Ladies it would have meant saving the club. I can’t believe the FA couldn’t or wouldn’t find the money to save the club or didn’t do more to help, so much for their new aim of investing in women’s football and growing the game. My heart breaks for the players and staff who all of a sudden are left with no job. I hope everything is being done for them to support them to find a new club or job and somewhere to live. What a sad situation for women’s football.

Notts County Get More Time To Pay Off Depts | 27.03.2017

Notts County Ladies FC were this morning given more time to pay off their debt to HMRC.

A High Court judge has given the club four months to clear their arrears and chairman Alan Hardy was relieved with the outcome.

He said: “I am very grateful for the extra time permitted and now the hard work must continue to preserve the future of Notts County Ladies FC.

“We are working hard to restructure the business to make it more sustainable. It’s a very challenging business model, with low commercial revenue streams making us reliant on sponsorship and ticketing income.

“I have some exciting plans for the ladies set-up, including the implementation of an academy for girls across the county, and we will not let our plans go to waste without a fight.”
