Leorio is hunched over his desk, eyebrows furrowed so fiercely his head has begun to hurt, when Gon appears before him, illuminated by lamplight, and darts in, planting a loud, firm kiss against Leorio’s forehead.

Stunned, Leorio doesn’t jerk back, but he does straighten, eyes wide. When his vision focuses, he realizes that Gon is grinning, hands clasped behind his back, as he watches Leorio.

“What... was that for?” Leorio manages to say. He glances toward the clock on his desk and blanches when he realizes several hours have passed since he last checked. It’s no wonder reading had become so difficult.

At the same time, Leorio realizes that his headache has begun to fade, and as he gently probes his temples, he meets Gon’s gaze again. And Leorio wonders, briefly, if Gon had tried to distract him for this reason, or if it were just a fortunate coincidence.

Deciding that it doesn’t really matter, Leorio lowers his hands to his desk and smiles. “Wanna grab a snack? I know it’s late, but I’m starving.”

Leorio blinks, then blinks again. The early morning conversation had escalated far more quickly than he anticipated, and with a sluggish brain, exacerbated by feverish temperatures, Leorio struggles to keep up. But once he registers Gon’s words, he understands how foolish he was to ask Gon why it was so important that Leorio go back to sleep.

He lowers himself back down onto his bed, the mattress sagging under his full weight, and spreads his hands atop the blankets on either side. Swallowing, he meets Gon’s eyes--bright and stubborn, framed by slanted brows and pursed lips.

“It’s just a cold,” Leorio insists, repeating himself, knowing that the words sound hollow. “I’ve gone in with worse. I have a job to do, you know.”

But his voice has lost its moxie, falling flat and failing to coax even a small shift in Gon’s expression. Leorio plants a palm against his forehead where Gon had (rather violently, somewhat crookedly) applied a cooling patch.

With a sigh that rattles the air from his lungs, Leorio slumps, defeated. “But if you’re gonna be so adamant about it... I guess I can stay home for today.”

Leviathan pressed bloodied fingers against the curve of her waist, smugness soaked into every inch of her being as she lifted a foot from the now ruined ------- seductive ------ chest cavity of some Konohan the patron of luck overlooked, clumps of mushed flesh falling from their sole groove graveyard as it came to rest on their skull. Minami hummed, wiping a heel on the corpse’s hair as she mused her situation.

The Seven Swordsmen’s mist didn’t quite reach this place; what a gift, right? She and Hiroki both would be blessed with a clear view of the other ------ and men like him didn’t deserve the respite of ignorance for what came for them.

             What was up with Joestars & wanting to hold him? in his last dying moments? Dio didn’t have anymore power in his body to fight the other off him. His body rested comfortably on the others body, his back to the others chest as the others arms wrapped around him. “How DARE you...!” He hisses with all his might, grunting & groaning with every fiber in his body. Dio had too much pride to pass away in the arms of a JOESTAR, HIS ENEMY for decades ... “If you were a man you would know to give me at least SOME dig...” He pauses, as harsh choke of blood emerges out of his mouth.. dripping down his chin in a spatter of lines “dignity . . “ The vampires muscles started to relax, shoulders drop, & breath began becoming labored.       Out of all the many times the man had found her, this had to be the worst. Kassandra had gotten into a knife fight with a local who was apparently done ‘wrong’ by her services as a mercenary. She was covered in both of their blood- more so theirs than her own. Though she must admit- they landed a few nasty hits on her, causing her to limp a little out of the alley. Amber gaze shifts up towards the man who seemingly stood there and quickly questioned if she was okay. She doesn’t answer at first- more so focused on getting somewhere safe.                   ❝... I’m fine. You need not concern yourself                 with me more than you already have.❞
