Hi everybody. It’s Admin Tri here, and I think it’s time I finally say something that has been blatantly obvious for some time now.

Non Compos Mentis is inactive, and will subsequently be closed. There hasn’t been a post on the main in exactly one month, and as much as I love that our members tried their hardest to keep this RP going by continuing to interacting, there now hasn’t been an interaction on the dash for weeks. I’ve been putting off making this post for so long now, and I don’t really know why, but it’s unfair to have this main hanging here, and it teases me every time I see it.

I’m extremely disappointed in myself that I couldn’t be the admin that this RP deserved. Unfortunately I’ve just been going through a tough time recently, and as much as I’d like to pretend that I am 100% fine now, I know that I’d be lying to myself. To try and continue this wouldn’t be fair on me, and it wouldn’t be fair to any current or potential members, and that’s why I’ve decided to close.

I would first like to say a massive thank you to Britt and Lia. You two have been some of my closest RP friends, and your help in keeping this RP up when I was struggling deserves my eternal gratitude. You are both exceptional players, and even better people, and I love you both so much, so thank you. 

I would also like to say a big thank you to all the players here at NCM that stayed until the struggling end. You guys were what made this such an incredible experience for me, and I had so much fun getting to know and RP with you for the short amount of time that we did.

Now for the nitty-gritty’s; I know that with the proper hands, this RP could thrive, and for that reason I am putting my work up there for someone to take from me and breathe some life into NCM. This could be a member, an admin, or even someone that was just stalking this RP but never joined. This ask box will remain open for you guys to message me if you would like to take it from me, and the page will remain the same for ONE WEEK before I put up a hiatus page with the same message.

Once again; thank you, thank you, thank you for all everyone has done for NCM, and I’m sorry that it’s come to this. I love you all, and I’ll miss you.

The clock stroke midnight and Minerva couldn’t be happier. The night had been fairly uneventful for Hogwarts standards, but that didn’t mean she hadn’t had to hand out a number of detentions and take away hundreds of house points due to consumption and distribution of alcohol. She’d been sure to distribute the detentions evenly, and made sure it would happen certainly on this Saturday and Sunday; extra punishment to have to do it whilst hungover. As soon as was possible, she announced the end of the party and directed the Professor’s and prefects to hurry the students back to their dormitory’s. 

She only hoped the weekend would be long enough for students to sober up.

Note from the admins: And that’s a wrap, folks! We hope all members had an enjoyable time during this event, even if it was a bit slow towards the end. Generally for the rest of the events, they will come with a prompt or a plot drop, but for now, this was just a getting-to-know-your-characters extra event, as well as a sort of opener.

As we understand some of you had plots/threads still going, we will allow you an extra 48 hours to wrap these up, but after that we ask that all event threads be dropped. Since the event is now over, however, you are more than welcome to pick back up those threads you had going before, as I know for myself some of them were rather enjoyable! 

As a few characters were obviously part of this consumption and distribution of alcohol scandal, we invite any of those characters to post detention-related starters from now on. We ask that only the characters listed below take part in these, as well as any prefects that may be looking after them. We thus ask that it is obvious the starter is taking place in detention. The characters who have been given detention are as follows:

The Great Hall had managed to completely transform in the small amount of time between the end of dinner and the beginning of this ‘Welcome Back’ party. The tables and benches had been pushed to the sides of the room, and they were covered in all sorts of confectionery and sweets, as well as massive bowls of punch and small pumps of water. Professors had been stationed at the doors to make sure all the rules were enforced, and Headmistress McGonagall was stationed at the front of the hall, watching over the students as the last-minute, small wizarding band blasted music behind her.

Tick, tick, tick.

The clock stroke 7pm and so it began. Students filed into the hall almost immediately, dressed in their smart-casual dresses and suits, and the band played their music. Minerva wore a small smile as she watched the party unfold.

She only hoped it would end with a positive outcome.
