Four anti-ageing facial exercises you can do at home.
These simple facial massages and exercises will improve the circulation of your skin and, with more oxygen, skin cells will be able to repair damage more easily, thus also improving collagen and elasticity.
The Giraffe exercise
Good For: Reduce sagging skin & give a more streamlined swan-like neck.
Alternative To: Neck Lift
Step 1: Look straight ahead and place your fingertips on the top of your neck.
Step 2: Lightly stroke the skin down as you tilt your head back (not too far that it feels strained or uncomfortable).
Step 3: Bring your head back down and repeat two more times.
Step 4: Jut your lower lip out as far as possible, place your fingers on your collarbone.
Step 5: Point your chin upwards, pulling the corners of your mouth down.
Step 6: Hold for four deep breaths.
Rosy glow exercise
Good For: Increase collagen, elastin, circulation
Alternative To: Brighter and smoother cheeks
Step 1: Using two fingers and your thumbs, pinch gently all over your cheeks for 30 seconds.
Step 2: Do this regularly at night, when your body can work to repair cell damage in your skin too.
The ‘V’ exercise
Good For: Make your eyes look wider
Alternative To: Eyes relax
Step 1: Put both a middle finger from each hand between your eyebrows (above and to the side of your nose), with your index fingers on the outer corners of your eyes.
Step 2: Look up and move your lower eyelids up, squinting.
Step 3: Relax and repeat six more times.
Step 4: At the end, squeeze your eyes shut for a count of ten seconds then relax.
Jaw Toner exercise
Good For: Release tension in the jaw
Alternative To: Face Lift
Step 1: With two fingers and your thumbs, pinch up and down the jawline, stopping at your ears.
Step 2: Repeat this three times, then using only your thumbs press smoothly up the jawline three times.
Extra tips to beat wrinkles and sagging skin
• Drink plenty of water before, during and after your exercise.
• Do the exercises wherever you are, lying down, sitting or standing.
