Oh and also try not to have a fight before you board a 10 hr 45 min flight to the other side of the globe, you've probably then jinxed yourself. At least that’s what it feels like when you end up in a plane crash. 

Did you know that there’s a 1 in 3.37 billion chance of dying in a commercial airline.  If you would've told me that statistic before I left Australia I would've laughed and shrugged it off. Facts like that are cool to hear, -interesting even on a boring day. But when fate ends up picking you as that one chance out of billions. To crash on a remote island between the pacific and Indian ocean with nothing and nobody around for miles. That’s when the sniggering stops and I only realised that when it was too late to turn back. Another fun fact for you. The survival rate is supposedly quite high, yet here I am stranded with nobody, that is until I meet a young boy, looking to be my age scuffed and on the verge of life and death, what do I do now...

Birthday Gift (LMK)

“Happy Birthday Markieeee!” You shouted and leapt at your boyfriend, hugging his sleepy form he just smiled and brushed your hair. “Time for your birthday ritual, come on.” 

“What ritual?”

“Come on dude, eyes closed grab my hand, living room now!” You said and got off the bed with your hand in front of his face, he shook his head and giggled, “Why are you always so pumped about birthdays babe?”

“One year closer to death, gotta celebrate it well!” You said and smiled at him, your hands slowly reaching for the blindfold in the side drawer, “Why this?” Mark whined and you just stood behind him and tiptoed to put it around his eyes, “You cheated last time.” You said and your hand clasped his tightly.

He walked slowly, trusting you entirely as his feet dragged along the wooden flooring, his hand was warm and his breaths were stable. When you slowly stopped his body bumped into yours and took a stop standing at the edge of the living room. The room was dimly lit and the cake was the main attraction, balloons floated around and a string of your polaroids hung across the wall. You did all the decoration alone and you were pretty satisfied with the results,your gift was set beside the cake. A couple watch set  and a necklace which Mark had eyed during shopping but shook it off and walked away. The sneakers Mark had put back into the shelf after looking at the price, the t-shirt he had stared at for long enough but ended up calling it ‘too tacky’ when it had a simple rose embroidery on it. You bought all those things, hoping that he would take a liking to at least one of these items. 

The birthday gift that Haechan had handed you sat well behind the cake, you had glared at him for being such an ass about it but you thought it was useful anyways, so you put behind the cake so Mark notices it last. Your eyes fell on the balloon that came near Mark's foot, his instant reflex would be to kick it, but you stopped him before he could do so.

You walked behind him and held the blindfold’s tip, pulling it slowly so his eyes would see the view in front of him. Mark's eyes opened slowly, his eyelashes fluttering as he tried to take in the decorations in front of him. “Ahhhh!” he shouted like a kid, his eyes crinkling as a wide laughter made its way onto his face, “Where did you get those watermelon balloons from?” He walked towards the cake and his smile grew wider when he saw it, “You made this!” He said and giggled his eyes falling on the string of polaroid pictures, his feet automatically moved towards those and his smile satisfied you. 

You trudged behind him as he recalled where each photo was from, the smile never leaving his handsome features as he kept recalling memories from the pictures. “This is from when you went to Vancouver!” He said amused as he inspected each photo and then sat down in front of the cake. You lit the candles and smiled at him, “Make a wish oldie.” You said and winked at him, he blew the candles and then proceeded to join his hands and pray, you stayed silent while he did all this, staring at him till he was done.

“Your mom must have taught you well, you do this every year.” You said as he cut the cake and fed you some, “Grew up well.” He smiled and ate the remaining cake off of the knife, a small smile setting onto his features as his eyes fell on the presents.

Your hand slowly held his as he smiled at the presents. He loved all of them, even though he whined about how much you must have spent on them, you shut him up with a kiss and had just smiled like a fool. “Haechan wanted me to give it to you.” You handed him the purple wrapped present and he looked astonished,”Haechan?” You nodded and his hands unwrapped the present as fast as he could and then his face turned red out of anger. “That asshole, he could have given me anything, but he chose a set of underwear?” You giggled and took it from his hands, “These are cute.” 

“Babe those are literal avenger boxers.” He deadpanned and your feet crossed and you sat up straight, “It's still a gift.” You smiled and put it with the other presents, you climbed his lap and slowly kissed his cheek and then your hands slid around his neck pulling him closer.

You were enjoying the moment when sudden realisation hit you and you pulled away from him, “It's my mom's birthday.” You said and climbed off him, your eyes raced towards the clock as you ran to get your phone. “I did not call her, fuck.” you deadpanned your eyes wide. “We are supposed to go to lunch tomorrow with her right?” Mark asked his figure slowly trudging towards you. “Mark, I have fucked up big time.” you said your hand trembling, “What?”

“I did not get her a gift.” Your eyes were wide in shock as you looked down at your phone, you looked at the time and knew that your mom must have been asleep while waiting for your call right now. 

You walked back and forth early in the morning, the curtains in your bedroom wide open and then your eyes fell on your boyfriend's sleeping form. How would you face your mom today when you had totally forgotten about her birthday. Mark had tried to convince you that she would understand but you knew your mom otherwise, she would be sad that you forgot her birthday but remembered Marks. 

When Mark woke up his arms slid around you after he had freshened up, his arms secured you in a hug and he kissed your nape. “ I don't get a good morning kiss?” He said and kissed your nape, you sighed and turned to look at him, “Ah fuck!” you said buried your head in his chest, covering your face entirely, he patted your head softly and kissed the crown of  your head.

“We should really start considering what you are buying for her.” he said and pulled your hands off your face and kissed your cheek, “It's your birthday and I fucked up yours with all my drama and I also ruined my moms, I can't believe this- I can  never do anything right! Why am i so dumb? Mark you deserve-” You rambled and Mark just shushed you and wiped the tears off your cheek, ones you never even knew had fallen. He brought you closer to him and kissed your nose lightly, “Don't talk so much princess.” He said and kissed your lips lightly, “You're everything and perfect, I love you. Everyone makes mistakes but that doesn't mean they can't be fixed,” he said and pushed your hair out of your face. 

“ Here's what we are going to do, we will buy a present for your beautiful mother, have a delightful lunch with her and then cut cakes. Come back home and you will be nice, you don't have to panic, I am here with you, am I not?” He said, his hands cupped your cheeks as he explained to you. You nodded and smiled at him. 

“I like red better.” Mark whispered into your ear as his eyes scanned the handbag, “Mark it's for my mom.” You said and shook your head, “Then buy the beige one, why are you wasting time?”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes baby, she will love it, it's beautiful. It's her favourite brand anyways, what's not to like.”

“The fact that she might already have it.” You hissed at him and his face morphed into confusion, “ Did that employee not say this is a limited edition?”

“Mark, are you sure you know my mom?” You said and moved onto the next bag. 

“This is a single piece ma'am, only one in Seoul.” The employee said and your eyes fell on the tag, you felt tears forming in your eyes just looking at it, you would definitely have to give up coffee this month to afford it. 

“Buy this!” 

“What do you mean buy this? Look at the price.” 

“We are splitting it anyway, just buy it.” Your eyes grew wider at this, “What do you mean we are splitting it?” 

“Do you want me to meet her empty handed?”

“Mark no.” You said and moved on, “Y/N get back here.” He said and pulled you by your arm, “This one.” He said to the employee and the employee smiled and took the bag gladly. “Mark what even?” You glared at him and he pulled you towards the cashier. You kept whispering about your disapprovals but he did not listen to you and just pulled his wallet out. “If you don't stop talking I will pay for all of it.” He said and looked at you, you sighed and gave in. A snicker made its way to your lips when you walked out of the store with the bag in your hand, “Where does all that dominance and money of yours go when you are buying stuff for yourself?” You sneered at him as you got into the passenger's seat and he drove off to your next destination.

When your mom saw the bag she was beyond delighted and she said that it was one of her dream pieces! She had also addressed Mark as ‘son-in-law’ a little too many times for it to be a mistake. She was happy when she had asked Mark what you had planned for him at night and did not get mad over the fact that you didnt call her. She acted absolutely delighted and had  said, “You have celebrated mine with me so many times! The young man needs you too.” 

Mark had snickered at you when you entered the car with a satisfied smile, "Hey wifey." He said and kissed your hand, your face scrunched up and you pulled your hand away, "What-" You growled and he leaned in your ear and whispered, "Guess your mom knows that I'm your future husband." Your cheeks turned a shade of pink and your eyes widened, "Who are you? Give me my Mark back." You pushed him, "Did you and Hyuck change souls? What is this behaviour baby?" You panicked when a small smirk adorned his features, and his face showed no emotions, "I'll show you who you belong to at home."

"Shut up." You blurted and looked away. 

"Your mum was happy." He said and massaged your shoulder. "I told you there was nothing to worry about. I'm the one who'll put you in danger to say less." He said and pulled you closer. "Give me another birthday gift."
