We played NCTC just a week before the accident. I remember talking to the catcher and joking around with her on the field during our game and now she’s gone…Our coach made this on the bus ride to Wichita State and we hung it from the fence in memory of the four girls that died in the crash and the whole stadium said a prayer for the softball community and the NCTC family. Today we played for NCTC. They should have been on the field today… P4NCTC Fly high lady lions

ASKING FOR PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS FOR A TEXAS COLLEGE.

 A tractor-trailer crossed a southern Oklahoma highway median and plowed into the side of a Texas college softball team's bus, killing four women on the team and injuring more than a dozen others, authorities said.

The collision involving the North Central Texas College team happened at around 9 p.m. Friday on Interstate 35 south of Davis, which is about 70 miles south of Oklahoma City and 60 miles north of Gainesville, Texas, where the school is located. The team was heading home from a scrimmage against Southern Nazarene University, in Bethany, theOklahomanreported.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Capt. Ronnie Hampton said the semi crossed the median and veered into the southbound lanes, striking the bus. He said three women from the team died at the scene and a fourth died at a hospital in nearby Sulphur. The victims have been identified as 19-year-old Megan Richardson of Wylie, Texas, 20-year-old Brook Deckard of Scurry, Texas, 18-year-old Katelynn Woodlee of Dodd City, Texas and 20-year-old Jaiden Pelton of Telephone, Texas.

Hampton said the team's coach, who was driving the bus, declined treatment at the scene and escaped without serious injury. He said 15 other bus passengers were hurt, as was the driver of the tractor-trailer, who was expected to survive. The extent of the surviving team members' injuries wasn't known yet.
