Julia, her youngest, has just broken both a mug and a plate. The action splatters syrup and mush on the ground, accompanied with Liv’s cup of hot coffee. “Julia! For fuck’s sake, be careful. Stop messing around. Now.” The blonde mumbles sternly under her breath, collecting handfuls of napkins. Her eyes avert then, looking to a man who approaches their booth. Liv assumes he’s a manager or the owner, which makes her flush with embarrassment. “Is there any way I could pay for the damaged cup and plate? I’m really sorry.”

the relationship would have seemed odd to most, but alessandra wasn’t one to care about these things, not when it felt so nice to have two people whose company she could peacefully enjoy. she looked up from the copies she had been grading. “what’s happening, dot?”

angelina watched the younger girl, head tilted to the side lightly. “you seem distracted, chiquita. is everything okay?” she inquired as she stepped closer to the girl, not too close, though, not to overwhelm her if something truly was wrong.

“Look...” Alvera started, not even sure where it was that she should begin. “I’m not... Proud... Of what I did to you.” Apologizing was incredibly hard for her, especially when the word sorry didn’t seem to be in her vocabulary, but she certainly was trying her hardest. “You didn’t deserve that- And I know that- I’m just- I shouldn’t have done it.” She wasn’t the type to trip over her words often, but now here she was, stumbling through this conversation. “I don’t have a good excuse, and it’s not like anything I say could take it back anyways. I just... I wanted you to know that I’m aware I fucked up, and I hope that in time I can make it up to you somehow.”

when they first met, savannah would say she was amused by the situation. it was cute, that her fiance’s younger sister had a crush on her. however, it wasn’t CUTE anymore when she actually started to get attached. going shopping together, hanging out when he was at work, flirting almost all the time. but scout didn’t think anything of it, right? apparently, she was very, very wrong. it was made clear that scout thought something of it, and she was royally screwed. and one day, when scout was getting over flirty, she had to make herself c l e a r. “you know that this... can’t be a thing, right? i’m engaged to your brother. we’re getting married. you’re in the wedding!” she announced, almost randomly, but placed after a few very flirty comments. “this is a very dangerous path that neither of us want to go down. i just want to make sure you’re not getting into something you’re going to regret.”

emilie was in the middle of building a fort made out of blankets and pillows with her daughter when she heard the front door open. she waited a few moments and sure enough, when she turned her head the other was in plain sight. a grin toyed at her lips as she motioned for her to join them. “aurélie got a certificate in class today so i told her i’d reward her with a fort and a movie marathon.” the canadian explained. “though it has to be perfect. so i hope your fort building abilities are up to scratch.”
