Hey guys - I don’t do a lot of RL posting on here, but I figure more exposure here can only be a good thing!

I’ve been a part of the Ballroom Club at Notre Dame for about 2 years now, and I’ve never met a more welcoming and wonderful group of people. We’ve got members from a huge variety of disciplines, over 10 different nationalities, and spanning nearly a decade in age.

Every year, Notre Dame runs a fundraising campaign for 24 hours, during which a $10 donation gets you 5 votes to cast for any organization you want. The $10 donation will go straight to whatever organization you want, and the votes will help determine how much of the $1 million prize pool each organization gets at the end. They’re predicting about 100,000 votes this year, so each individual vote is good for another $10 for the organization!

If you’ve got $10 to spare, consider throwing it (and your votes) our way? We’re entirely self-funded, and the money helps keep dues for individual members down, while letting us pay our amazing coaches, travel for competitions around the Midwest, and host our own competition every year. This year, we had over 300 competitors from as far away as New York come in and compete, so it’s a pretty big undertaking - but one we love to do!

Ballroom is honestly one of the best things that’s happened to me recently - it’s a really amazing way for me to motivate myself to stay active, and the company and activity has been doing wonders for my anxiety and depression.
