Let the day go on and on!

Let it stretch into the yonder!

Let the red sky linger longer,

Let the blue and yellow wander....

Let the day go on and on!

Let the mountains far be close!

Let the waves crash and engross!

Let the wide sky and narrow road juxtapose

Let the day go on and on!

Let the extraordinary ordinary ‘be’!

Let the white silence circle free!

Let it be my memory!

Sun shining

Wind cooling

Snow sleeting

Steady plodding

Ascents challenging

Descents energising

No slipping

No stopping

App mis-judging

Distance reducing

Steps exceeding

Speed improving

Running hating

Finishing loving!!!!

The changing tide alters our course,

And sends us in a new direction

The looming shore a forlorn place

Bears no resemblance to our reflection.

A strange new world up on the hill

No history and no connection,

But to the shore we boldly paddle -

And bravely await their reaction

I used to write poems quite often

With words seldom heard:

Tumbling vowels to soften,

Consonants, shaken and stirred

I thought about sounds and music,

I thought about pictures and hues.

I thought about happy emotions

And deepest dark feelings too.

To capture a moment in time,

The essence of living: begotten,

Recorded in rhythm and rhyme

I love London

The fast pace, the track and trace

The busy crowd, the not allowed

The market day, the stay away

The lines of stalls, faces to the walls

Beautiful boutiques, maskless cliques

Delicacies from Avalon, taste testers be gone.

Architecture to impress, disease to oppress

A little metropolis, the dying of a populous

Noise (26/2/15)

The louder the better, the notes of childhood.

Soloists sang, bands bellowed,

It enveloped me, captivated me and grew me.

The quieter the better, the rests of adulthood.

Wind whispers, mountains mutter,

It soothes me, frees me, heals me.

The breath is the fire that feeds the train Snatching clean air from the morning’s rain

The water is the mana that feeds the flesh Sipping cool acqua to renew and refresh

The earth is the grounding that feeds the stride Striking stones with memories and pride
