I think you might just straight up be IRL Near Death Note. (If he was less sedentary and more extroverted/charismatic, anyway.) I'd say I'm assigning you a kin right now, but, your icon is already... Anyway it's great lol.

i didn't answer this immediately, but you have no idea how happy this made me when i saw this enter my inbox... it is affirmation of the highest caliber lol.

i like to think that, if near wasn't so traumatized/had the responsibility of L placed on him as a literal child, that i would've been how he turned out more or less ^^ maybe if he'd gone to college and found a less toxic crowd than wammy's, he would've gotten some social skills.

also, i dont think near would have become a mathematician, but if he did, he'd be either a combinatorialist, a number theorist, or an algebraist. i feel like he'd enjoy the type of math with not much structure but a lot of depth.

actually, the one thing keeping me interested in algebra is the existence of evariste galois - which if you don't know, galois was a genius mathematician who founded the basis of modern algebra. he was politically active during the french revolution and died at 20 in a duel. obviously i have nothing to do with this guy, but in the sense of being some troubled mysterious genius that i admire in theory but probably would've found obnoxious irl, he is my L.
