061419 - Evening Supercell & Lightning 057 by NebraskaSC Severe Weather Photography Videography June 14, 2019 - Kearney Nebraska Prints Available...Click Here All Images are also available for... stock photography & non exclusive licensing... Watch this Epic Video from that evening on Flickr Click Here Humid and the mosquitoes were eating me alive... I wouldn't have to chase this evening to catch some incredible Nebraska views of this supercell that formed just to the north of Hastings Nebraska. The perfect sunlight cresting against this storm cell was perfect in every way. I knew I was in for a treat. Just a few blocks from home I set up shop! We had a dying cell to our west creating a beautiful sunset and I would eventually get a few snaps of this. Though was pointing due east from my location on the outskirts of Kearney Nebraska. It had all of my attention. 4 Cameras in position for this event. Pointing due east I was watching these billowing thunderheads on the updraft and it was a sight to see. I also knew then that this was going to produce come incredible lighting after dark. I was prepared and ready! Enjoy! Watch this Epic Video from that evening on Flickr Click Here ***Personal Note*** I've never caught anything like this before. If you look closely there is something that had flew in front of this storm. Also please note .. this storm is over 40 miles away from my POV and I'm centered in on the thunderhead. I had no clue I caught this till I pulled it from the RAW file. Airplanes have beacon markers that flash every few seconds... in a 30 second exposure such as this would have seen 5-7 beacon flashes recorded on this frame. Most Drones have markers also. Ball Lightning is usually stationary and I have it witnessed that phenomena several times but have never photographed it... but this... I truly don't have any Idea what this is flying on the outskirts of this supercell... Going to have to go back and review the 4k footage from that evening..
