Red headed proto-dragons

Typically found in western provinces and territories, the Red headed proto-dragon is an extremely dangerous predator. These proto-dragons are medium sized, maxing out at only 7m long. Smaller than their cousins the Dwalin's proto-dragon, which maxes out to 10m. Their mouths are filled with serated re curve teeth, used to slice meat then swallow it whole. It's claws on its feet are sharp enough to cut into 3 inches of leather, dealing deadly cuts to its prey and adversaries. Their wings are too short to be used for flight or gliding, instead are used for intimidation and mating purposes.   The Red head typically has a litter of 4-6 chicks. For the next 3 years the mother watch over and raise the young. After year 4, the young fend for themselves. The fledglings typically stay together until they reach the age of 6, then separate to never see each other again.Living a solitary life only coming across its own kind for mating or territorial disputes. The young Red heads though have been known to become friendly to humans and other races, to gain access to easy food. Some foolish humans have tried to keep young Red heads as pets, but always fails due to the natural predatory nature of the animal. However in some cases, a symbiotic relationship is established between human and Rad head without a bloody end. A fully matured Red head is one of the top predators of its environment, but had to compete with usually larger and more aggressive adversaries. With the great cataclysm though, the Red head has become the only apparent apex predator in the last few years. Its versatile diet and high intelligence, helped it survive and eke out a living. Its numbers are still low though, encounters and sightings are very rare as the world begins to rebuild and regrow. Starting to get into a little bit of world building for my comic, hope yall like it.
