"My research? Not at all," Ashe smiled as he set down his ink pen to give Emmerich his full attention. It was nice to take a break from staring at old tomes and journals to chatter about research with someone, especially another researcher.
"Since the Inquisition, I've been studyin' the Veil and it's... I suppose composition is the best way to describe it. Tryin' to understand what it is and how it came to be," Ashe explained as he motioned to a couple of the books on his desk.
"My work with the Veil Jumpers has been a boon in that regard. Lotta manuscripts and old journals have made their way to my hands for translation and research. So far I've been able to mimic some of the experiments of temporarily removing the Veil from small sections, but nothin' on the grand scale that Solas is plannin' on."
"Kinda just like poking holes in a giant reservoir. Not enough to drain the well, but enough that I've managed to improve my ability to communicate with spirits regardless of my-- predisposition." Blood magic, after all, made one more aligned with the physical world and more resilient to the Fade. It hampered Ashe's ability to communicate with the spirits or enter the Fade except through drastic means-- such as the Eluvians.
"I figure the more information we have on the veil and its composition, the better understandin' of Solas and the Evanuris' plans."
