I have a gt story in my head, which is a revamp of one of my old stories on dA, where the giant is displaced from his own world into one with magic and stuff, and met a wizard pretty quick. In the old story, their reasons for sticking together were a bit... clunky.
I'm keeping the parts I like, and discarding the awkward clunky didn't make sense bits, and adding some new stuff
So. Giant finds wizard. In this new world, giants tend to be pretty dangerous and eat people. So, the wizard is doing his best not to get eaten by this giant who just found him. (in the original, he was asleep and got picked up in his blanket by a curious giant. he may or may not be in the new, but still for some reason is taken by surprise and frightened)
Wizard, desperately, makes an offer. Something along the lines of If you don't eat me, I'll serve you. Giant, who has not had any intention to eat him, says I'm not gonna eat you, which is enough for the deal to seal.
And now the wizard is magically obliged to do whatever the giant tells him, and shenanigans commence.
They probably go on a quest to figure out how to dissolve the deal, and they keep trying to figure out loopholes, occasionally with disastrous results (for example, the command "ignore everything I say" DOES seem to release the wizard from obeying orders, but it also makes hin selectively deaf until they can think of a way to cancel out that order.)
Anyway, I had a new thought of a scenario, where it's cold and the wizard is shivering, and the giant notices the wizard is shivering, and tells him Wizard Burrito time, c'mere
which, obviously, the wizard misinterprets, but he can't not "c'mere", that was an order, so he goes over to the giant, shivering with terror as well, and tries to remind the giant that he promised not to eat him, they have a magical deal, the giant can't eat him (but he's realizing a big gap in the deal. Giant can't eat him, sure, but he didn't get the giant to promise not to kill and cook him.)
"I'm not going to eat you," the giant gently reassures him. (this might be before he's quite realized the full reality of the deal... or that there's a magical deal at all... )
Giant wraps wizard up in a blanket nice and snug, maybe puts him close to their campfire or cuddles him to warm him up.
