This past weekend was absolutely amazing. I couldn’t have asked for better weather, smoother travel, nor for a better experience meeting @pon3boi. I was a little nervous about it (yet so excited I couldn’t stand myself), but let me tell you: Bree couldn’t have made me feel more welcome. It was kinda hard to keep eye contact because we were both nervous, but it wasn’t long before we found our rhythm and our way around.
We’re such nerds and I love it. :D
She has such a pleasant demeanor and a generous heart with a lot to give, with a soft voice and an endearing laugh that lifts you up in a way that you just can’t appreciate as well when you’re not in-person. We had a lot of plans for things to do and see, but just walking around talking and taking in the splendor of Disney’s scenery together was what I really come back to when I think about the trip (not that the rides and food weren’t really memorable too). We talked a lot and it was a fantastic way to connect. It’s different from any other theme park I’ve been at because the others focus on “doing things” instead of just being there and forming an experience.
I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention that she looked great in her new dresses. I’m so glad she tried them for the occasion. ^.^ I felt honored that she put so much into dressing up, especially when she had to fight the wind the whole time. XD It was something really clean and inviting that worked well for her and for being at the parks, I think.
It was also great to be able to treat her (all the “gent” tags in their posts from the trip make me all warm and fuzzy :D I’m glad they enjoyed it). It just felt natural. She went through a lot for the trip and trusted me enough to be there. I can’t express how much I’m thankful for that. We were both trying to make sure the other was having the best time and, well, it just really came together.
I don’t want this to get too long, but let me share one of my favorite moments before I wrap up:
-The Floridian sunset was casting its explosion of color across the sky while the inviting glow lamps grew brighter among all the flowers, people, and splendid architecture at Epcot as we neared the Japan section; it was then that the Disney experience really clicked for me. It took my breath away. And as the sun finally set when we came out of the Japan shops, the light from all the lamps/lamp posts danced across the shimmering waters while we had some good grub from the quaint little food stands.-
This big ole’ squish is gonna pop if I keep going, but absolutely: this was an excellent first memorable taste of Disney and I’m so glad it was with a great friend like Bree (I was too young to remember my first time). I’m looking forward to growing our friendship and perhaps more adventures in the future. ^.^
