Sooo that anon asking for a murder baby fic got me thinking, and since you're the one with the best headcanons around here, I have to ask: have you ever imagined the possible outcome of the Abigail situation if Bedelia had been part of the "family" instead of Will? Do you think Bedelia would have been able to give Abigail some balance to counter Hannibal's persuasion?

Haha, I don’t know if they’re the best, but I am flattered! ♥ And thank you for the ask, I have been in a chatty mood for two days now, but people don’t want to fangirl *le sigh*.

Obviously I was not a fan of the “murder family” concept so adored by fa/nnibals; maybe it’s natural extension of my utter distaste for ha/nnigram or maybe because, objectively speaking, it could never work. 

I would love to see Bedelia and Hannibal interacting with Abigail! Will was never close with Abigail (he had his “vision” of her and that’s about it) and did not bring anything to their relationship apart from his guilt of killing her father. Hanni on the other hand was close to her, but being as selfish as he is, he wanted a Misha substitute and a murder buddy in one go, which was too much and too fast for confused Abigail. 

Bedelia would definitely be a more grounding force here (as she is in Hannibal’s life), giving Abigail a more detached, but needed perspective. Bedelia’s distance would be a big asset here. Plus she would cool Hannibal’s rushed aspirations, telling him to back off when he was pushing Abigail too much. And Hannibal would listen, reluctantly, but he would; she is the only one who can influence him after all. I think Abigail would appreciate Bedelia’s honesty; she wouldn’t try to “be her friend” like Alana (which was a failed attempt all the way) and she wouldn’t be seeking personal gain like Freddie. She would be seeking knowledge, yes, but that is not the same thing. And she wouldn’t condemn her either. Abigail would live and get a chance to become “herself”, rather than another copy of Misha. Sadly, on the show she was reduced to a go-between Will and Hannibal, another wasted character.

I don't know if prompts are still welcome, but here it goes: Bedelia wears a pantsuit instead of the usual pencil skirt, and Hannibal is very distracted.

“A change of style, Doctor?” the words spill through the loosethreads of his person suit before he can contain them.

Bedelia tilts her head, eyes sharp, inspecting him. Her eyebrow arches slightly as she notices thenew, unexpected opening in his veil. Hannibal feels suddenly bare under herstare, an exposure of his own making.

He arrived at her door at the usual time, but was welcomedby an unusual sight when she opened it. His psychiatrist’s habitual Chaneltweed had been replaced by a black Armani pantsuit. Hannibal’s eyes widened; thesuit fitted her perfectly; long, simple lines of the outfit complimenting herpetite frame. Her blonde curls falling softly on the black fabric of thejacket; she looked formidable and delicate at the same time.

The matching stilettoes echoed on the floor as she led himto her office. The tie around his neck was unnaturally tight, but the careful fibresof his person suit were unravelling with each step as he followed her,attempting not to stare. He managed to contain his sentiment for ten minutes,until a pause in their conversation caused the slip of his tongue.

“What do mean Hannibal?” her gaze lingers on him.

“I was referring to your outfit,” he admits with perceivablehesitation.

“Does the change make you uncomfortable?” her voice remainslow and detached.

“No,” he replies immediately.

“Patients rely on their psychiatrist to provide them with asafe space,” her gas flame eyes remain burning,” Even a slightest alteration tothat routine may cause unexpected discomfort.”

“I feel utmost comfortable with you,” he replies honestly.

“Why did you bring it up then?” she presses on.

“I haven’t seen you wear a pantsuit before.”

“I did not realise you are keeping a record of my outfits,”a tiny smile pulls at her lips.

“Of course not,” he responds with haste and her eyebrow liftsonce more, questioning the sincerity of his words.

Hannibal’s mind is set ablaze with want. He watches asBedelia uncrosses her legs draped in the elegant, black material. He imaginesher getting up and walking towards him, then straddling him; one hand in hishair, the fingers of the other tilting his chin, thumb brushing over his lipsand him pleasing her in every way she desires. His pants begin to feel as tightas his tie.

But she merely crosses her legs again.

”Would you prefer if I wore something else?” she askssuddenly, “Something that would fit the image of me you are creating in yourmind.”

Hannibal becomes even more undone, enamoured with her daringwords and her curious stare, seeing the truth of him. No image could ever matchthe reality of her. He wants nothing more than to unwrap the black wool andreveal her luscious skin, but most importantly her trepid heart.

“No, never,” he holds her enthralling gaze, “It is not animpression I’m interested in.”

Bedelia smiles. Hannibal hopes it is a promise of things tocome.

Since the miscarriage headcanon made me sad af, I have a happier question for you: what names do you think Hannibal and Bedelia would consider for their murder baby? (Let's just ignore the fact that Hannibal might think of Mischa for a girl, we don't need that kind of angst thank you very much.)

I see them having a girl and choosing a French name, something elegant, but feminine. I personally like Isabelle, Aurélie or Caroline, but I am not very good at this haha.

I think her middle name would be Misha and it would be Bedelia’s idea.
