  Dearest , I hope this letter finds you in good health , and that everything is going smoothly in your life. It always feels like I have so much to say when I write to you , but when it comes time to all my thoughts seem to drift away. More so it makes me want to ask you a million questions but I fear you may get tired of them after some time. Either way writing to you has become the highlight of my day when I have a chance. Considering the stresses at work , it feels like i'm able to chase them away when I read your letters. It feels like you are beside me sometimes , sharing in the details of your day or night and the things you've been doing. I've never had someone to talk to like this ... and it feels right it should be you. Today I made a new muffin for the bakery. It's a mix of passion fruit and peach and I have to say it's delicious. I've actually packed some up for you and they should arrive sometime after my letter. I trust your options after all so i'm more than happy to send you anything you'd like. I also decided to change the aesthetic of the bakery. Perhaps a pale peach would suit the walls and all more natural light in. As well as adding some plants to liven up the tables and empty space. I'll add some pictures with this letter of my bakery so you can have a sense of what i'm talking about. Sometimes I can't believe I have my own store ! It has always been a dream and here I am running a successful business. But at times it feels lonely , not having many people in my life I can go to. But that's okay ... your letters are always here to keep me company. I don't want to make this too long .. I suspect you'll be overwhelmed with everything when it comes. But i'm glad to be able to write to you like this. And hope one day , you can be here with me as well. I hope all is well. Always , Leah

               new clients always make liying nervous. at least with regulars, she knows what to expect, but new clients... she’s always going in blind. what if they’re violent? what if they’re into something weird? what if they want to tie her up and they end up running out with the money? what if she ends up in a body bag somewhere? what if she gets kidnapped? this is her life now, she has to put those fears aside and just get on with it. she takes one last deep breath before she opens the hotel room door, forcing a smile when she sees her client for the next few hours. ❝ hi, you asked for blossom? ❞

        Yunhee turned her head in an instance to glare at the other. She was in no way impressed with his words, when in fact, his actions were the one that caused her to become suspicious of others. "That's not entirely true," the teacher chimed back with a smile. Her hand reaching over to cup his chin, "I actually give other people a chance and have faith in them." Fingertips wiggling to gently tickling her friend, "not everyone is an asshole that needs to be treated like you." Yunhee puckered her lips, blowing a kiss towards Jun.

               hyeon’s been trying to make time for his friends since his discharge, but it’s difficult. he’s still adjusting to civilian life, and he’s still trying to process everything that happened during his military service ( and of course he’s kept tight-lipped about it because he doesn’t want anyone to misunderstand ). it’s hard trying to go back to everything, when he isn’t the same person he was when he left. maybe he shouldn’t do this, maybe he should cancel and say he got sick, but just as he’s thinking about getting up to go, he sees kiha walk into the bar and make eye contact with him. fuck. okay, put on a smile, the same way you did for sunny, he tells himself, waving his friend over with a deep breath.

It was easy - effortless - to be carried away by music. When it came to dancing, Pestilence did not need a reason or a cause for celebration: she could have returned home exhausted from her work, from pretending to be a normal human, or from navigating the life of the immortals as best as she could without compromising her position on the newly re-shuffled cosmic chess board. She could have returned home beat, limbs as heavy as though someone had shackled them with sets of dumb-bells intended on keeping her down, but as soon as music would be played, there would be nothing that could stop the Horseman from having the time of her life.

Today’s afternoon was no exception. She had been expecting a guest, surely. She had given the hunter no particular time or date when he could stop by to report, for far too many weeks had passed since the two of them had embarked on their demon coven spying and hunting mission for either of them to keep schedules and tabs on when they would see or visit one another. They had, if she had calculated well thus far, removed at least a couple of demons on their way to Asmodeus (and, by extension, the hunter’s brother’s killer) but that was not a reason why she was carried by music today. No, Yoona had absolutely no idea when the other would come and what kind of news he could bring. Simply, she had woke up excited, and moved around her residence with an unusual lightness and energy which she needed to let out somehow so before clock hands reached two pm, she had put on a classic - ABBA’S Dancing Queen - and began to move, both with elegance and goofy carelessness.

With no one to watch her and her senses alert enough to catch anyone entering the house in time, she could do what she wished. Only, she had so completely lost herself in the tunes, in the songs that switched from Dancing Queen through I Want to Dance with Somebody to What A Feeling, that somewhere in all her glee, she had completely missed out on a steady march bringing Youngnam into the living room. She spun around and now face-to-face with the ever-so perplexed hunter, Yoona burst into a chuckle. “Youngnam-ssi! I’m so glad you’re here. Come, it’s rude to just stand there when there’s music on,” she spoke as she walked over to him, her hand reaching for his sleeve and tugging on it ever slightly as pleading eyes asked him to join her. “Come. I don’t see any grievance in your eyes, it must be good news you’re bringing, right?”

Tall windows allowed for natural light and the jumble of colors that swirled in the sky, as the day wobbled to its end. It was dusk, and the sun was setting, the overhead lights turning on, including the small lamps on each table. The library wasn’t empty, not by a long stretch, but the people that were still there were far too preoccupied with whatever they were doing. That the only sounds you could hear would be the occasional screech of the chair as someone would get up, or distant keyboard typing. 

That was until she decided to speak, mind you, it wasn’t shouting, but in the wast quiet hall, the words echoed. “ I’m still reading it, learn a bit of patience. ” There was never a moment too serious or dire, where he couldn’t find a way to be annoying, regardless if the situation called for it or not. 

                                   “ What are you going to do, fight me over a book? ”

     There were so many questions that Minsu had, so many answers he wanted, but asking them was a different story entirely. He’d learned long ago that sometimes the truth was better left unsaid; it was the main lesson his parents had tried to teach him – the one thing they’d given him that he held onto a tightly as he could. Still, each and every time that Hanbyeol came around, it became harder and harder to say goodbye. He knew Minsu so completely, knew everything he could do, everything he’d seen…

Secrets between them (at least on Minsu’s side) didn’t exist. And that? Made those questions rolling around in his mind harder and harder to ignore.

“It’s nothing special,” he said, head ducking almost shyly as he handed over the red wrapped and gold bowed package. “And don’t worry about the red and gold; the store was out of most other colors – stocking up for Valentine’s Day and all…” Handing over the package, he took a step back. “You don’t even have to open it now, if you don’t want.”  Inside was a small trowel with Hanbyeol’s initials etched on the handle. It was the perfect size for a small garden – one which Minsu had worked overtime setting up on his balcony. “I know you like to garden, and I thought maybe…you might want one here.”

And that maybe, it might make him come around even more.
