The biggest difference between cross stitch and embroidery is actually the increase in panic you feel when you drop a sharp, thin embroidery needle vesus a blunt-ass tapestry needle.

Multiply that terror by at least 3 if you're prone to walking around barefoot.

So I was in the mood to stab something lots of times and I was really excited to start this crossstitch pattern I generated based on some fan art by @abby-from-hell

I’ve been waiting on this pretty eagerly for about 6 weeks but had to finish my nephew’s first birthday gift first.

So I get settled in and prep my cloth (grumbling because I got the wrong color, Ivory instead of Antique) I fish out my envelope of threads and...it’s empty.

The receipt is in there, listing all my threads. The four I took out to do my nephew’s gift are still present. But the 15 or so to start this project are all gone.

I’ve been looking but no luck 😫 Not helped by the fact that my new apartment is literally three times as big as my previous one, so any time I have to go searching for something I get overwhelmed because...I’m not used to having so many places to look!

Upshot is that I know the thread has to be somewhere, but it’s not so much that I can’t just order again.

So, does anyone know any stitch supply companies that are still fulfilling orders right now? With decent turn around times?

(Guess this means I’m going to be writing instead of stitching tonight. Oh woe! Though I WAS looking forward to watching this new Blu-Ray...)

Dropped my embroidery needle. Heard it hit the floor. I have looked all around and under everything at least four times. Swept and got a magnet to get to places I can't physically reach.

The needle bounced into the abyss. I don't know where else it could have gone.🙃
