The biggest difference between cross stitch and embroidery is actually the increase in panic you feel when you drop a sharp, thin embroidery needle vesus a blunt-ass tapestry needle.
Multiply that terror by at least 3 if you're prone to walking around barefoot.
Oh dear.
Black square with a tiny, white circle in the middle and slightly smaller black square with a tiny, white square in the middle represent two completely different colours of thread.
The difference between the symbols is obvious now that I see it. So is the fact that those squares don’t fit the colours around them.
GOD DAMN IT!
*smacks past self on back of head for starting a project on 18ct when 14ct would have worked just fine*
So I finally had time to make my write up my own cross stitch pattern. And let me tell you I am afraid it makes no sense. It is mainly cross stitch but also involves a bit of basic embroidery and I’m trying to make it make sense in the key. My weird and odd ways make sense to me but I have no idea if it will make sense to anyone else. 😫😂😅.
Just had to unpick two colours 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I was almost finished with my first cross-stitch pattern when my only needle snapped! Such scrappy timing, ughh!
