My aunt is my caregiver. (Caretaker?) I live with her as I am on disability and pay rent for a room in her apartment.

My aunt had income from her job. A service officer at the VA hospital writing claims for disabled veterans. The program, just like the VA, sucks however my aunt is well known here at the VA and even at VA hospitals across America as The One to go to to ensure the government doesnt fuck you over and you get the money you deserve. She mostly works with Vietnam Vets

Shes worked there for like 15 years? Or smth crazy like that

As im sitting here stressed out of my mind because she had to leave for surgery (appendectomy) we find out she hasn't been paid for the past month because they decided to fire her this morning after all of this hoopla.

And of course she had to leave right when she got the news and they jusy dismissed her with a "thank you for your service" are you shitting me?

Bc my aunt cant do full time at a regional office youre going to fire someone so well known from the VA bc ??? You just decided to eliminate the VSO program??? What about all of the rest of the disabled veterans? My aunt is the only one who can get shit done there and they dismiss her via email.

Just how fucking insulting

And now what? We can't afford to live here without an income.
