Adiós a los negritos “Pedemonte” (1939)

Gracias al aporte de Fernando G. González se publica hoy una nota aparecida en la desaparecida revista “Mundo Uruguayo” el 07.09.1939 que sería impensable publicar hoy por su carácter “políticamente incorrecto”:

No aparecerán más en el Estadio los negritos del “Pedemonte” Por una resolución de la Junta Profesional, "los alcanzadores de pelotas”, es decir, los simpáticos negritos del "Pedemonte” no realizarán más su trabajo en el Campo del Estadio Centenario. La Junta tomó el asunto como una propaganda comercial y ordenó que los pibes aparecieran sin el consabido letrero. La Directiva del Pedemonte, por su parte, creyó más oportuno retirar a los negritos de las actividades. Las notas nos muestran al equipo junto al Presidente de la República, al de la Junta y a Sir Wellingdon el día que éste visitó el Estadio.
