Wow...2020. What a salty bitch. However, I have to love that hoe because good things did happen for me. For the 1st time in my life, I was able to look introspectively and figure out my needs. I’ve ignored them and shrunk myself to make other people comfortable for years. This year, I couldn’t run away from the inner rage and restlessness. I had to tackle it because I knew it was my #innerchild desperate to come out and play. I started performing again with @asssketch and I love those funny folks! I concentrated on my writing and saw the fruits of my labor. Also I had to stop writing and take care of my mental health. I spoke about my politics in my own unique way. I got closer to friends who mattered and lost so many dumbasses that I felt so lighter. I became closer to my family, especially my parents, to the point I have so many ideas for a sitcom. I realized how #blessedandhighlyfavored I am, and I can’t take that for granted. Most importantly, I know God and my ancestors are watching over me. They’re pushing me to succeed and they know I will. I AM GRATEFUL! Last night, I was on #Clubhouse (what a crazy ass phenomenon, right?!?) and someone said that we have to start saying NO to others and YES to ourselves. It’s time to reverse that and SAY YES to myself, no matter how hard it is with the possibility of hurting feelings. I think I’ve used careless eating and fantasies/daydreaming to suppress who I truly am to a full extent. I suppressed myself to fit in and not be alone, but I always ended up angry and a volcano ready to erupt. I’m ready free myself from those burdens. During #negrosolstice, my great-grandmother Clotee (who I only met when I was a baby) told me that in order to be my authentic self, I must let go of my burdens. I’m becoming who I am and I can’t wait to show the true me off in 2021 and beyond. #workinsilence ALSO WE SURVIVED (and we’re still surviving) A MUTHAFUCKIN’ PANDEMIC!!!
