Hi! Dallon tweeted me that a good stater bass is a Fender Squier! Hope this helps!

Yep! Squier is Fender’s line of less expensive guitars and basses. For instance, a regular Fender P Bass can cost thousands of dollars, but a Fender Squier P Bass is only a few hundred. It’s pretty sweet! Not as good quality as far as sound and materials, but if you’re just starting out and trying to learn, it really doesn’t matter. Squier is a good line!

Hey I saw you study linguistics and I was wondering (if you've decided or know or even want to think about it yet) what career choices you're looking at? I'm interested in linguistics myself and the only thing I could think of is professor.

Oh, sorry to disappoint, but Linguistics is kind of my extra major, sort of for fun and because I thought studying it would help me learn other languages (and it has, so). Basically the way the curriculum at my school works is that you either have two majors or you have one and have to do sort of liberal study like things, and I didn't want to bother. My main course is Gaelic and I'm planning to go into teaching because there's a severe teaching shortage in Gaelic and as an immigrant I can only work in shortage occupations here.
