It was a dark (but not stormy) night and four young sports anime trashes were traveling along a butt fuck nowhere road on their way to the promised land of therapy quesadillas.
As the street lights diminished to zero, a low fog appeared before the travelers. As they became wary, they scrambled to lock the doors. What was out there? Could it be the Straight Line Demon? The False Angel of Hakone? No... it was... MIDOUSUJI.
In a panic and in the absence of yellow flowers, they began to scavenge for items they might offer to deter the lizard beast. Onoda charms and stickers would surely be useful, but would it be enough? Would the Manami charm be able frighten him off long enough to get away? Even experienced rider Sugimoto charm may not cut it. But then they remembered. The very vehicle they were traveling in had the soul of dear sweet Sakamichi. They would be okay.
Midousuji would not yield yet however. A devil's trap came into view. A lonely gas station with an unattended store, advertising $0 gas. Weaker travelers than these may have fallen for the trap, especially with gas prices these days, but they knew better. They continued on.
Never the less they were incredibly frightened as several moths attempted to obstruct their path. They listened to the traditional TouMaki playlist to keep their spirits high, but just as they were beginning to calm, it appeared. A single light behind them. Not a pair, just one. Perhaps... on a bicycle. He was coming for them.
Further panicked, the driver sped away, much over the speed limit and highly dangerous around a curve. For a bit the light persisted, fading in and out with the fog. At last they lost it and heaved a sigh of relief, but they dared not slow too much. Only the ballad of Call Me Maybe raised their spirits as they finally approached salvation.
As the first street lights appeared and the signs of the promised land came into view, the travelers cheered. They had escaped the fearsome lizard, Midousuji. For now.
