How is 5th edition D&D? admittedly I'm like a crotchety old man about this and have kept to 3rd edition Dungeons & Dragon and Pathfinder. I have never tried 4th because I felt like the changes in lore they made to the forgotten realms left a bad taste in my mouth.
Ohhhhhh don't even get me started on how much I despise the Spell Plauge, they literally DESTROYED the Realms. All the R.A. Salvatore books I've read in the past, now half those fucking places are gone (or were gone, I think they retconned it)I started out on 4th edition a few years back, but ever since I started playing Pathfinder last year, it kinda spoiled 4th for me and I dont think I could ever go back and actually /play/ it (I DM a session of it for a bunch of newbies though). As for actual 5th edition, I can't say too much about it at the moment. I played in the beta test wayyyyyy back in the day, but its changed so much since then. I've read the official starter kit rule book though (the only thing thats out), and thankfully lot of what they're doing is very reminiscent of 3.5/Pathfinder, especially regarding things like spells and in a sense combat too, so I'm pretty excited. Then again, its only the starter kit, not even a player's handbook.
