'Basically' against incest?
the ‘basically’ implies that you’re qualifying it with something but i think you meant it as in you’re totally against it
Yeah, that’s what I meant. That’s just how I talk as well.
I skipped gold digger and went straight to grave digger

I chose the templar tree after the scene with Ella. My Hawke wanted some means of stopping him from doing something he’d regret, if Justice lashed out at the wrong person. They figured better them than a real templar.
I’ve never played a warrior Hawke myself (I haven;’t played a warrior in any of the games, haha) so I never really had to consider it during gameplay
That makes sense though.
I do wonder how Justice would react to Hawke using templar abilities on him. On the one hand, Justice would absolutely appreciate Hawke stopping him from doing something he would regret; on the other hand, Justice is very protective of Anders and has even stronger externalizing trigger responses to templars than Anders does, so I wonder if it would make him distrust Hawke more (because he already starts out distrusting Hawke, and unlike Anders, it takes Justice awhile before he begins to trust Hawke).
But if Hawke is up front about it, and preemptively asks for Anders’ consent to use those abilities on him in the event that Justice lashes out again in the future... that might actually impress Justice, and make him trust Hawke more. It would show Justice that Hawke does genuinely care about Anders and making sure he feels safe, and I think the honesty would go a long way in making Justice see Hawke as a trustworthy and just person. (This is probably contingent on Hawke being pro-mage, of course. That’s pretty much a prerequisite for Justice seeing Hawke as a just person worthy of Anders’ trust.)
Since I’ve never played a warrior Hawke and didn’t have that option, I ended up headcanoning that Hawke tries to establish communication w/ Justice, try to work with him and Anders to come up with a safety plan so to speak -- figure out what they could do to help in the event that something like that happens again in the future. And in my main worldstate, where Hawke romanced Anders, they were pretty serious about finding some way to communicate with Justice and help he and Anders coexist better, because like it or not, Justice is a third party in that relationship and needs to be taken into account when it comes to consent issues, making decisions together as partners, etc. (Hawke/Anders/Justice is my OT3, but even if Justice didn’t have the same relationship with them that Anders & Hawke have with each other, Justice’s needs/boundaries/etc. still need to be taken into consideration.)
Like, wrt communicating, I actually wished that during the “Dissent” quest, Hawke could have addressed Justice by name instead of Anders. He was the one primarily in control, and I think addressing him directly might have made it easier to get through to him or ground him. I mean, I wish that the game had handled Justice differently altogether -- I didn’t like how the one-dimensional ‘he’s Vengeance/a demon now’ thing got pushed. :/ (Also, it would’ve been fun and interesting if he and Anders each had their own rivalry/friendship bar, dialogue, party banters, etc.)
