Mahi Pemasani Hamilton, ON Minolta AF-Sv
What kind of stories do you like to tell with your photography? I don't particularly have a story to tell through my photography, but I have a mood that I'd like to set. I edit my photos is a way that is completely out of the norm. Its hard to see this though my recent film work in India, but you can in my previous Wander feature as well my older and upcoming landscape work. I put myself in a different dimension of the world around me where everything is dark, gritty, gloomy and somber.
What were some of the highlights of your trip to India? Would you like to go back and explore the country even more? My highlight of the trip was when I met a muslim man who owned a watch repair shop that was the size of a closet in a New York apartment. I stopped to take a photo of him (and change the battery on my watch). It was pretty clear this man was just getting by, and yet he still offered to buy ME a tea. And yes, I would love to go back to India and experience its unique culture in all of its 29 states.
