I interpret ‘relationship’ broadly, so I’m not even considering this question in the romantic sense. I have really been blessed here in the five years I’ve had this blog to explore some significant canon relationships of Kisuke's, including the ones with Yoruichi, Shinji, Hiyori, Hougyoku, Ryuuken, Nel, Shunsui, Akon, and Mayuri. There are such interesting dynamics in all of these to explore, particularly the ones that happen mainly off-screen. But there are other relationships where I feel I’ve done him a disservice, barely having scratched the surface. Our interactions with Ichigo, Rukia, Tessai, and Isshin, for example, have been comparatively light, considering how significant those relationships all are. So it would be nice, for example, to write Kisuke in a more mentoring role with either of the two protagonists, or bonding with the other dad-types. And I’ve had very few interactions with Ururu or Jinta -- incredibly rare muses! In terms of current threads here, I’m intrigued to find see how things will play out between Kisuke and Grimmjow ( @deivorous ), and to navigate a frenmity with post-war Askin ( @reapersofknowledge ). But there are two characters that I don’t feel I’ve ever had a solid chance to explore and would like to, and those would be Kuukaku and Benihime.
You know -- my first significant thread here here was actually an angst one with an Akon writer, and being entirely new not only to writing Kisuke but to roleplay in general, I was amazed at how well it suited him. As you can imagine I love writing comedy, and having him prank and annoy people -- but I love that he has a serious side, as well. I’ll be honest, my muse is a problem-solver, so I struggle with fluff and slice-of-life to find something compelling enough to inspire me to write. What motivates me is what motivates all true plots: conflict. Baking cookies together is not a plot. Trying to bake cookies together when you’re not on speaking terms, or you’ve run out of sugar, or one of you is convinced you’re baking a chicken pot pie -- now we’re starting to find actual plot.
