Hi Starr! Have you seen any enjoyable movies either out of your own interest or in theaters? Are you still interested in reviewing movies? (Not asking because of the blog but out of interest haha)

Hi there! To be honest, I haven’t seen any movies lately that really blew me away. The last movie that I really liked was The Witch, and that was back in February. I meant to review it because there’s just so much good stuff there to unpack, but never got around to it. I’m waiting for it to be released on blu-ray so I can re-watch it and write a review with it fresh in my mind (so to answer your second question, yes! I do still plan to write reviews of movies).

I watched a few other movies that I enjoyed, like Deadpool and of course Captain America: Civil War, but those were just fun popcorn movies that didn’t really make too much of an impression outside of being entertaining. I did find Concussion, The Big Short and Spotlight to be pretty compelling, so there’s that.

I did see an independent film called Lamb that I thought was super interesting. I would recommend it to anyone who isn’t afraid of potentially uncomfortable themes in movies.

I’m really excited to see High-Rise and The Lobster. I have high hopes for both!

Honestly I feel like I’ve seen more crappy movies than good ones lately!
