If you’re a fan of Tarantino’s vintage allure and dramatic absurdism, you’re going to love the new “neo-noir” video Moncrieff has shared for his debut single, Symptoms. The Londoner’s soulful and bluesy music certainly carries plenty of dusty yet vivid appeal, too. At the center of Symptoms is Moncrieff’s extraordinary voice, accompanied by the song’s unique blend of gritty blues and modern urban pop. Symptoms is like Hozier or Cobi, with a generous helping of incendiary R&B pop and an injection of Max Frost’s dashing bravado. Moncrieff explains: “Symptoms is essentially a song for people who’s only religion is for making bad decisions”.
