So...

my fellow purveyor of snark, weird art, and cool cinematic references, neoindy asked me to publicly state 5 things I like about myself. Here goes:

1. I have a wonderful, supportive family that I am incredibly devoted to and appreciative of. They make me a better person and I love that!

2. I just recently graduated from college after returning from a long absence. I am proud of myself that I was able to set this goal and accomplish it.

3. Cat Sex. It happens around me all the time. I mean, it's uncanny how often I am confronted with cat sex. I am happy that at least someone around me is getting this much action.

4. I like that I am empathetic, and that I care for those around me. I feel I am a good listener and a trustworthy friend.

5. A few years ago, I chose to challenge what I believed about myself and the world around me and take a fresh look at everything, abandoning the preconceived notions I had held onto for years. I appreciate that this has given me a new view on life and people and ideas. 

I'm going to buck the system a bit and not tag any of my followers specifically in this and ask them to publicly state 5 things they like about themselves. However, if any of my followers wish to do so, I'd love to read it.

Oh, boy! Thank you for this. :) I also got one in fanmail format from neoindy so I'll post ten and then send it to ten of my favorite followers. Thanks to both parties for sending me this, I love you guys bunches and you'd be receiving this from me if you hadn't already been the ones to send it to me!

I love my eclectic taste in music! I have a very weird range in music and getting in my car with my iPod on shuffle is always an adventure.

I love that I can generally always enjoy at least some aspect of a movie. Even if the movie is trash, I always try to find some redeeming quality about it.

I love that I write. I'm always interested in writing something.

I love that I'm punctual. I can always count on myself to be somewhere on time. Whenever I'm late, I nearly have a stroke, though.

I love my collection of books. I've acquired a pretty lofty stack of books throughout my travels and even when I moved via USPS, I made sure to pay to have all my books shipped and it cost a small fortune. Worth it.

Even though I can't commit to doing everything I want to do (learning French, perfecting the several instruments I want to learn, etc.), I love my ability to try new things and attempt to do big things in my future.

I love that I refuse to settle. I won't stop until I'm a successful filmmaker. I don't see a place for myself at a desk job. Creativity is my life force and I love that I can always find something to get out of it.

I love that I'm a pretty friendly guy. I try my best to not get involved with drama or petty arguments and I do my best to be friendly with everyone I come in contact with.

I love that I have moved around so much. I've met so many nice people and I've seen so many nice things. I've had an extremely privileged childhood in most senses, so I love that I've seen so much of the country and hope to see so much of the world in my coming years.

I love my blog. It's a nice place for me to post personal things and archive my favorite movies. Sometimes, Tumblr can be a straight-up garbage pile as far as relations with other bloggers go, but I love the fact that I can keep all of my stuff in one place neatly. This place isn't so bad most of the time.

I’m guessing the heartwarming lessons of Alien, Gravity, Leprechaun 4, and Event Horizon didn’t really take hold, huh?

I've never seen Leprechaun 4 (or any of the Leprechaun movies, for that matter) but Alien is an endearing movie about a boy and his pet chest-burster.
