The passage tombs at the Carrowkeel cemetery in County Sligo were excavated in 1911 led by R.A.S. Macalister, the Irish archeologist who was also committed to the 1940’s cataloguing of all known Ogham stones in Ireland. The excavation revealed Neolithic Age remains and ruins dating back to the 4th century B.C.
