Ate Ina. This is what I'm called by the girls of #NeonIsland, and while they just throw clothes my way complete with super pa-encouraging "Why nooooot, you can super wear that Ate!" (even when I'm pretty sure it ain't going over my hips! haha!), plus style advice, plus plenty tsismis on the side (haha!), I also don't mind ordering over their website, especially since stocks run out so quickly and I value what they do, the work they put in, plus the decision they made to actually make this happen so many years ago. So while I imagine I don't understand this whole influencer business where people are given free stuff and that translates to sales, I'd like to think that actually buying from local makers whenever we can is not only kinder but also more productive in the long run. We fuel creativity and cultural work by respecting it enough to support it, not just through words but by spending our hard-earned cash on it when we can.
