Anyway, here's the world map of the imaginary Táng dynasty-ish fantasy setting. Dotted lines are major roads, black squares are major cities (with a population above 10.000 citizens). The red area is directly administered by the capital Jiăzī.
Coloured clouds are meant to mark places of religious significance, like pilgrimage sites or revered mountain peaks, but also main seats of major monastic orders (which, against their original vows, have become key political players).
The economic overlay is supposed to show the most important produce/raw material of different regions, and the main import/export product flows between Tāoshàng and its bordering kingdoms. The blue vein is a system of grand canals for easier transport of shipments (like the one built during the Suí and Táng), for bypassing innavigable stretches of rivers via pound locks, invented during the early Northern Sòng dynasty.
I'm unhappy with these maps in several aspects of realism and plausible geography, and have the desire to draw them anew, whenever that may be. Still, I consider this a decent first attempt.
